What Is the Maximum Daily Loss?

Written by Fundex Plus

At Fundex Plus, the Maximum Daily Loss is set at 4% of the highest value between your account balance or equity, calculated each day at 5:00 PM EST.

To determine your daily loss limit, we take the greater of your account balance or equity at the daily reset and subtract 4% from that value. The resulting amount becomes your Maximum Daily Loss threshold for the following trading day.

This rule is designed to promote disciplined risk management and help traders maintain consistency over the long term.

How Is It Calculated?

Every day at 5:00 PM EST, Fundex Plus will:

  1. Review your account balance and equity.

  2. Select the higher of the two values.

  3. Calculate 4% of that amount.

  4. Establish your Maximum Daily Loss limit for the next trading day.

Example

If your account balance is $100,000 at the daily reset:

  • Maximum Daily Loss = $4,000

  • Your account equity must not fall below $96,000 during the following trading day.

This calculation includes:

  • Closed losses

  • Open floating losses

  • Any active positions affecting account equity

Important Notes

  • The Maximum Daily Loss is monitored in real time.

  • Open positions are included in the calculation.

  • The daily limit resets every day at 5:00 PM EST.

  • Breaching the Maximum Daily Loss rule results in an immediate account violation.

Fundex Plus uses this rule to encourage responsible risk management and protect traders from excessive single-day drawdowns while maintaining a professional trading environment. 🚀
